How to get the FabIS Shop Floor app connected on your iPhone, iPad or Android phone, what to do when something does not work, and how to reach us.
Getting connected.
Three steps, and most of the work is your office’s.
Ask your office
Your company’s FabIS administrator sets up phones and tablets from the FabIS Hub. If you are the administrator, that is where to start.
Join the shop’s Wi-Fi
Shop Floor talks to your shop’s own PowerFab server over the shop’s network, so your phone or tablet needs to be on the shop’s Wi-Fi.
Sign in with PowerFab
Open Shop Floor and sign in with the PowerFab username and password you already use. Every action is recorded under your own name.
Try the demo shop.
You do not need a shop connection to look around. Open the app and tap Try the demo shop: it runs an invented shop built into the app, with made-up jobs and pieces. Nothing you do in it leaves your device.
When something does not work.
“Can’t reach the server”
Be on the shop’s Wi-Fi. A guest network or mobile data cannot reach the PowerFab server. If you are on the right network and it still will not connect, tell your office: the PowerFab server may be switched off or down.
“Not set up”
Your phone or your company has not been set up for Shop Floor yet. There is nothing to fix on the phone. Ask your office; your FabIS administrator sets it up from the FabIS Hub.
My sign-in is not accepted
Use the same username and password you use for Tekla PowerFab. If they do not work, ask your office to check your PowerFab login. FabIS does not see your PowerFab password and cannot reset it.
The Wi-Fi dropped while I was working
The app keeps what you recorded on the phone and sends it when the connection comes back. Stay signed in and keep the app installed until it has gone through.
